Job Description

The Nanolive company has developed a revolutionary technology leading to easy and fast explorations of three-dimensional living cells without damaging them. Its R&D team is looking for a master student who will contribute to the development of efficient and robust numerical methods in the context of optical physics for a duration of 6 months. That position is equally open to women and men.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate with a broad interest in natural sciences and cutting-edge related technological developments, and more specifically with proficiency in mathematics, physics and scientific computing. Her/his goal will be to study and develop reliable computational methods related to specific inverse problem in optical physics.

Tasks

  • perform literature surveys on existing suitable numerical methods
  • perform prototyping, numerical testing and benchmarking
  • do validation on experimental data
  • provide a working implementation
  • write a detailed report

Your key assets

  • Excellent knowledge in mathematics, physics or scientific computing. Background in wave propagations and physical optics will be greatly appreciated
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, C++ or Matlab
  • Team player, fast-learner, open minded and rigorous
  • Fluent in French or English
